Elaine chong

Elaine Chong is both a jewelry designer and a painter; and the two practices truly feed each other. The color in a painting becomes the enamel in a pendant. The symbol on a canvas becomes the motif on a ring. She sources materials from the markets of India and Morocco and brings them home to her studio. Every piece is rooted in ritual: the repeated mark, the object worn close to the body, the meaning carried in something made by hand.
